Medical Inpatient Auditing

Developed to provide an advanced look into the world of medical coding and auditing, our Medical Inpatient Auditing course explores essential applications and real patient cases that explain coding services. Hands-on physician documentation is provided to help develop essential auditing knowledge and skills. Our course is divided into chapters that cover ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS. We explore codes for evaluation and management services, medicine, radiology, pathology and laboratory, surgeries, and anesthesia.

Prerequisite: Solid knowledge of Medical Terminology and Medical Coding. If you do not know Medical Terminology or Medical Coding you can take one or both of our additional courses.

By understanding the origins of the words and their building blocks - such as roots, prefixes and suffixes, the terminology will make sense and be easier to use in everyday settings such as doctor’s offices, labs, pharmacies, hospitals and clinics. This course is structured to help you break down commonly used terms and understand how medical terminology relates to body parts, diseases and procedures.

 

Human Anatomy

Our Human Anatomy course provides necessary background information which is essential for students to assimilate anatomy information.  Our course is useful for increasing not only an intellectual understanding of anatomy but also self-awareness of the body in action.  For most people, anatomy can be somewhat intimidating, but this beginning level course will help you sort through fascinating facts about the human body in a straightforward, easy to comprehend manner.

Upon successful completion of our Medical Coding course, students will be prepared for an entry-level position doing medical coding in a medical office setting and will be prepared to sit for the AHIMA national certification exam to become a Certified Coding Associate (CCA).
